At One Body in Christ United, we want to make something very clear from the beginning: our goal is never
to condemn, but to lovingly convict using the truth of God’s Word. We know that only the Holy Spirit can
open eyes and transform hearts. Our role is simply to share the Scriptures and the truth behind them, so
that God’s people can go before the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, and seek His understanding.
Halloween is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in the world today. For many, it seems like
harmless fun — costumes, candy, decorations, and parties. But when we open the Bible and look at the
origins of this day, we begin to see a very different picture. Halloween is rooted in practices that glorify
darkness, death, and the occult — things God’s Word tells us to avoid.
“Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11
At One Body, we understand that no one is perfect. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned
and fall short of the glory of God.” That includes every one of us. We all struggle, we all stumble, and we all
need grace daily. That’s why this message isn’t about pointing fingers or shaming anyone. Instead, it’s
about shining light on truth and encouraging you to take everything before the Lord.
Our heart is simple: to encourage God’s people and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. We
believe when believers are rooted in His Word, they will walk in wisdom, freedom, and clarity.
Halloween presents a unique challenge for Christians because it mixes culture, tradition, and spirituality.
Many churches even try to “Christianize” the holiday with alternative events. But the question remains:
Are we honoring God by doing so? Or are we blending into the world we are called to stand apart from?
The Bible reminds us in 2 Corinthians 6:17, “Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the
Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” This is the heartbeat of our Halloween series — not to
condemn, but to invite you to see what God’s Word says, and then allow the Holy Spirit to guide your
response.
At the end of the day, what you do with this teaching is between you and God. We provide the truth of
Scripture, and it is up to each person to decide how to live it out. But we believe with all our hearts that
when you seek God sincerely, He will give you the wisdom and strength to walk in His ways.
So as you read, watch, and reflect on our Halloween series, we ask only this: Go before the Father in
prayer. Ask Him to reveal His truth clearly. And trust that He will.
Because more than anything, our desire at One Body in Christ United is to see God’s people encouraged,
uplifted, and strengthened in their walk with Jesus.
